How to Plant Sunflowers.
Step 1. choose a place that recieves at least 6 hours of direct sunlight.
Step 2. Perpare soil by digging to a depth of 8-12 in. Mix in organic materials (leaves,grass clippings, etc.)
and remove all rocks before you plant.
Step 3. Spacing and depth depends on variety of seedlings. Follow package directions. generally, you will plant seedlings to a depth about a 1/2 in. Cover with soil, tamp them down by hand and water thoroughly.
Step 4. Keep the soil evenly moist until the seedlings have germinated (begins to grow) and they have emerged.
Step 5. Water if they lack in growth. Sunflowers usually dont require alot of watering and generally can do good in any condition.
Step 6. Weed as necessary to keep the bed looking its best.
