The Lombard lot is really coming along. We were suprised that the weeds grew up so quickly. They are already waist high! Last Tuesday we helped fill raised beds with soil and started clearing a path that will take visitors on a tour of the garden. Soon we will learn how to make natural beauty products using things like mint, which is growing very well in the garden. It is great to be contributing to City High's garden project!
We recently went back to this site ane all the spots where there wasnt much weeds were completely filled with weeds and the knotweed that we thought we got rid of came back twice its size. But I also dicovered that there were strawberry plants that were growing and the sunflower plants were huge. Everything that we planted is growing in the garden. Students recently dug up dirt and put down cardboard and made raised beds.
