Size


House Finch has a small body and fairly long beak long head there wings are short making there tails seem long..


Color


Adult males are rosey red around the face and upper breast with a streaky brown back,belly in flight.. Adult females arent red their grayish brown with thick blurry streaks and a marked face..


Behavior


House finchesare gregarious birds that collect at feeders or perch high in nearby trees. when there not at feeding they feed on the ground,on weed stalks,or in trees they don't move fast and sit still while they shell seedsby crushing them with rapid bites.


Habitat


House finches frequent city parks ,backyards, urban centers,farms and forest edges across the continent in the western U.S. you will also find house finches in there native habitats of deserts, glassland, chaparral and open woods.
